Abe Eldridge age 75 of Owosso, Michigan died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso, Michigan on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Rev. Burton Kincaid & Rev. Mark Kincaid will officiate and burial will take place at Easton Cemetery, New Haven Township, Michigan.
Abe was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 10, 1932 the son of Allen (Dutch) J. & Celia M. (Howard) Eldridge. He attended Emerson & Wilkinson schools in Owosso and resided all of his life in Owosso, Michigan. On January 21, 1955 he married Genevieve G. Furnish, at Middlebury United Methodist Church, in Ovid, Michigan.
He had worked for Robbins Furniture Company in Owosso, retiring in 1991 and had worked for Mulhall-Erb Lumber Company. He loved to fish & play golf, and loved his family very much. He also served his country in the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Abe was a member of the First Free Methodist Church in Owosso, Michigan and was a member of the Eagles Club, Aerie #851, Owosso, Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Eldridge of Owosso, Michigan, 4 daughters, Pamela & Harry Burdick of Owosso, Michigan, Vickie & Richard Sanders of Corunna, Michigan, Marianne & Martin Beacham of Owosso, Michigan, Karen & Ted of Roscommon, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, 6 great grandchildren, 1 step great granddaughter, his mother, Celia M. Eldridge of Owosso, Michigan, 1 brother, Jack & Shirley Eldridge of Owosso, Michigan, several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his father, 2 brothers, 1 sister & 1 grandson, Nicholas Miller.
