Adah Marie Vander Vlucht, age 93, of St. Louis, MI died Friday, November 5, 2010 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Terri Bentley will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 from 11AM-1PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Adah was born in Hillsdale County, Michigan on August 10, 1917, the daughter of Orville R. Armstrong and Jessie E. (Kretzmar) Armstrong. She graduated from Pittsford High School in 1935. Adah married Hans Vander Vlucht on March 8, 1939 in Fremont, IN. He passed away on Nov. 3, 1992. Adah has resided all of her adult life in St. Louis. She was a past 4H leader for 27 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and canning. Ada attended St. Louis First United Methodist Church .
She is survived by her daughter Alice Hoffman of Shepherd, MI; daughter Phyllis Vander Vlucht of Hubbard Lake, MI; son Ron and Gloria Vander Vlucht of St. Louis, MI; daughter Margaret and Ken Boyer of Warren, MI; grandchildren Ronda Marie Schoenborn, Wayne Emery Hoffman, Jalene Ann Sandel, Shelly Boardway, Sheila Wenzlick, Robert Radecki Jr., Daniel Vander Vlucht, Jesse Boyer, Neil Boyer; 12 great grandchildren; brother Loren Armstrong of Coldwater, MI; and sister Lola Mae Hoffman of North Port, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.
