Agnes M. Conley age 94 of St. Louis, Michigan died Monday, September 26, 2005 at Schnepp Health Care Center St. Louis, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jim Burgess will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery Alma, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Agnes was born in Bronx, New York on June 4, 1911 the daughter of John and Agnes ( Tanko ) Keschman. She resided most of her life in St. Louis, Michigan and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1929. She also attended County Normal and Central Michigan University. Agnes married Orville Conley in Alma, Michigan in May of 1936. She was a school teacher in several country schools in Gratiot and Isabella Counties. She loved to play cards, and play softball. She and Orville sponsored a softball team when they owned and operated St. Louis Recreation. They also traveled to their home in Bradenton, Florida for 23 winters. Agnes was a member of the St. Louis First United Methodist Church and the Michigan Education Association.
She is survived by her husband Orville Conley of St. Louis, MI, 2 daughters; Janet & Duane Oxendale of St. Louis, MI, Phyllis Hull of St. Louis, MI, 4 grandchildren; Trenton Oxendale of St. Louis, MI, Kelly & Michael Glover of St. Louis, MI, Rochelle Hull of Shepherd, MI, Martha Hull of Shepherd, MI, 7 great grandchildren; Anne, Jennifer, & Trent Oxendale, Samantha Herron, Nicole Hull, Janelle & Cameron Glover, and 1 sister Johannah Gilbert of Grand Rapids, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, brother John Keschman, sister-in-law Jane Keschman, and brother-in-law Brad Gilbert.
Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Association or American Diabetes. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
