Albert James Sharp, age 90, of Elwell, MI passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his home.

A Military Graveside Service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge, MI on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Dennis Dubendorf officiating.

Albert was born in Almont, Michigan on February 12, 1924, the son of Charles Irving and Mary Ann (Conley) Sharp. He married Norma Devenbaugh on August 1, 1988 in Oklahoma. Albert has resided in Alma for the past 24 years. He retired from General Motors Fisher Body in Lansing in 1975. He was also a retired evangelist and minister of music for the Church of the Nazarene. Albert loved to fish and collect coins. Albert was a WWII veteran of the US Army, and enjoyed sharing war stories. He was a recipient of 5 Bronze Stars, was awarded the Purple Heart, and Sharp Shooter Medal.

He is survived by his wife Norma Sharp of Elwell, MI, 3 sons; Albert Sharp Jr. of Apache Junction, AZ, Mark Sharp of Edmond, OK, Stephen Sharp of Chandler, OK, daughter Virginia Sharp of Apache Junction, AZ, stepchildren; Terry and Barbara Taylor of Alma, MI, Chris and Paula Taylor of Alma, MI, Lori and Delbert Umbarger of Alma, MI, and Linda and Mark Vaughn of Alma, MI, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 spouses; Ecena and Verla, and several brothers and sisters.
