Aleene A. Long, age 76, of Ashley, Michigan died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Carson City Hospital, Carson City, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Jon Pohl will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
Aleene was born in Elsie, Michigan on July 6, 1934, the daughter of John and Antonia (Kargar) Lytle. On May 23, 1953 she married Gareld R. Long in Bannister, Michigan and they resided most of her life in the Ashley area. Aleene drove a school bus for Ashley Public Schools for 18 years, and enjoyed camping, fishing and going to garage sales.
She is survived by her husband Gareld R. Long of Ashley, MI, 4 daughters; Jackie and Terry Tribble of Bannister, MI, Roberta and Steve Miller of Fowler, MI, Leota Long of Ashley, MI, Onalee Long of Ashley, MI, 3 sons; Bruce and Karen Long of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Curtis and Brenda Long of Bannister, MI, Tony Long of Ashley, MI, 9 grandchildren; Melissa, Crystal, Curtis, Rebeca, Carrie, Toni, Gary, Megan, Beth, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Florence and Roy Andre of Ovid, MI, Julia Martin of Saginaw, MI, Evelyn and James Bila of Owosso, MI, and 1 brother James and Theresa Lytle of Ashley. She was predeceased by her parents, 1 daughter, and 4 brothers.
