Alice Blunt

Alice M. Blunt, age 93, of Elsie, MI passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Ashley Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Mr. Thomas J. Bradley officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 4-7 PM. at the funeral home.

Alice was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on January 28, 1921, the daughter of Rudolf and Anna (Holubik) Tethal. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1939; she was the salutatorian of her class and she attended Lansing Business College. On July 5, 1942 Alice married Robert D. Blunt in Ovid, Michigan; Robert predeceased her on December 4, 1997. Alice worked as the office manager for Carter-Melvin Insurance Agency for 35 years before her retirement. She resided most of her life in the Elsie area and was a past president of the American Legion Post #502 Auxiliary. She was also a member of Elsie United Methodist Church.

She is survived by 2 sons; Thomas A. Blunt Sr. of Bannister, MI, Jan and Kimberly Blunt of Rockford, MI, 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother Myron.
