Alice Louise Casler age 96 of Ovid, Michigan died Monday, October 4, 2004 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Rob McPherson will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Alice was born in Elsie, Michigan on December 7, 1907 the daughter of George Lewis & Lena ( Jarvis ) Carter. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1925. Alice married Clifford Casler on October 19, 1928 in Wauseon, Ohio. He died November 4, 1977. She was a homemaker and Registered Nurse at Clinton Memorial Hospital and Ashley Clinic for many years.
Alice was a member at Bannister United Methodist Church, Bannister, Michigan. She was also a member of the Oldest Living Alumni of Sparrow Hospital, School of Nursing, and she played the organ at the Bannister & Carland Churches for many years. Alice resided most of her life in Bannister moving to Ovid in 1976.
She is survived by 1 daughter Joanne & Jack Bouck of Higgins Lake, MI, 1 son Clifford "Bud" & Willann Casler of Ovid, MI, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Memorials may be made to Bannister & Carland United Methodist Churches. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
