Alice Crell

Alice M. Crell, age 83, of Elsie, MI died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 2-8 pm with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Alice was born in St. Johns, Michigan on August 7, 1925, the daughter of Lyle George and Aletha (McCullough) Lipp. She graduated from Elsie High School and County Normal in Williamston. On November 13, 1946 Alice married Charles Crell in San Diego, California. She and Charlie lived in Elsie since 1963. Charles died September 2, 1997. Alice had worked for Gene's IGA Store in Elsie for many years. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve, and the Elsie Literary Club and the L.S.T. She enjoyed making and selling crafts.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Susan Woodworth of Perry, Michigan, Joan and Bill Graham of Elsie, Michigan, Sharon Crell of Vine Grove, Kentucky, 1 son Jim and Beverly Bronson of Flint, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister Irene Murray of Texas, 2 brothers; Earl (Pete) and Flo Lipp of Lansing, Michigan, J.D. and Margaret Lipp of Bay City, Michigan and sister-in-law Joyce Lipp of Walled Lake, Michigan. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and 3 brothers.
