Alice May Griffin, age 65, of Ithaca, MI passed away Saturday, October 17th, 2009 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, Elsie, MI. on Wednesday, October 21st at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Clare Huyck will officiate. Burial will take place at Eureka Cemetery Eureka, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 2-8 with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI.
Alice was born in Alma, Michigan on March 30, 1944, the daughter of Perry Thompson and Pearl (Leiner) Thompson. She graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1962. Alice retired from Meijers as a greeter at the Lake Lansing store. She enjoyed baking with her granddaughters. Alice was always willing to help other people through cancer walks, bake sales and donating her time. The most important thing to her was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She resided most of her life in the Ithaca area. Alice was a member of the God's Outreach Mission.
She is survived by one son Bob and LeAnn Griffin of Sumner; her grandchildren Bobby Griffin of Ithaca; Jaclyn and Eric Coyle of St.Louis;Raelyn Griffin of Sumner; special friend Gary Barnett of Lansing; her siblings Alberta Markara of Eureka; Harry and Grace Thompson of Charlotte; Florence Thompson of Flint; Ruth Ann Ingersal of Ashley; Rosemary and James Edwards of Corunna; Jane Thompson of Ashley; June Husted of Ithaca; Melvin and Dee Thompson of Burt; Patty Thompson of Ashley; and many nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her parents; one sister Bertha Measural; three brothers Carl Thompson, Earl Thompson, Dale Ray Thompson.
