Alton J. Allen age 80 of Kansas formerly of St. Louis, Michigan died Thursday, December 13, 2007 in Lenexa, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be held at Church Of The Nazarene Alma, MI on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Stephen Shook and Rev. James Adams will officiate with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery St. Louis, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2007 from 5-8 P.M.

Alton was born in Saginaw, Michigan on May 3, 1927 the son of Alton Alvin and Beatrice ( Green ) Allen. He resided most of his life in St. Louis, MI and graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1945. Alton married Marian Keiser in 1947. She preceded him in death in 2005. Alton served 2 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed for 17 years at Midwest Refinery and for 10 years in construction for Bobinal Investments. He was then Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for the St. Louis School District for 17 years until his retirment in 1988. Alton was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a life long member of the Church of the Nazarene, Alma, MI as well as a member of the St. Louis Fire Department and an assistant Scoutmaster.

He is survived by 4 sons; Michael & Merrilee Allen of St. Louis, MI, Patrick & Lori Allen of Oklahoma City, OK, Theodore & LouAnn Allen of Overland Park, KS, Jonathan & Judy Allen of Gladstone, MO, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, wife and 2 brothers Carl and Ivan.

Memorials may be made to Alma Church of the Nazarene. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
