Anna Godinez

Anna M. Caverson Godinez, age 80, of Aurora, IL formerly of Owosso passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Provena Mercy Medical Center, Aurora, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 6, 2009 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at the Funeral Home.

Anna was born in Beech Grove, Arkansas on November 18, 1928, the daughter of Abe C. and Wilma H. (Boyd) Smelser. She resided most of her life in Owosso, MI. Anna married Agustin Godinez on July 22, 1983 in Illinois.

Anna was employed by Johnson Controls in Owosso for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Owosso Eagles #851 and Women of the Moose Chapter #3001. More recently Anna worked in a Nursing Home in Illinois.

She is survived by her husband Agustin Godinez of Aurora, IL, 2 sons; Daniel Caverson of Owosso, MI, and Scott Caverson of Owosso, MI, a daughter Marlene and Howard Eckenwiller of Beaver Dam, OH, her grandson Bradley Caverson and her grandchildren Shelly and Mike, brother Larry and Judith Smelser of Owosso, MI, 2 nephews; Tim and Kari Smelser of Owosso, MI, and Jeff and Serena Smelser of Owosso, MI. Anna was preceded in death by her parents and 2 daughters; Jan and Jill Caverson.
