Anthony "Tony" P. Alvarado Jr., age 64, of Owosso, MI passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare Center.

A Memorial Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.

Anthony was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 21, 1946, the son of Antonio B. and Josephine (Pena) Alvarado. He married Lynnette Ford on February 15, 1985 in Flint and she survives him. He resided most of his life in the Holly area until moving to the Owosso area 13 years ago. He served in the Army as a Corporal during the Vietnam War. He worked at Pontiac Truck and Bus in Pontiac for 30 years until he retired in February 1995. He loved the outdoors; in particular he was an avid fisherman, and he was an animal lover. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and gardening. It was said that "you couldn't keep him down".

In addition to his wife Lynnette, he is also survived by his daughter Cynthia Alvarado of Kentucky, his son Vincent Alvarado of Owosso, MI, his mother Josephine Alvarado of Holly, MI, his sisters Josie (Felix) Sauseda of California,
and Nina Alvarado of Michigan, his granddaughters; Jennifer (Joel Johnson) Alvarado of Michigan and Brittany Alvarado of Pennsylvania, his grandson Darion Alvarado of Pennsylvania, and great granddaughter Hayleigh of Michigan. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, son, Tommy Alvarado, sister Cruz Alvarado, and brother John Alvarado.
