Anthony Kusnier Sr

Anthony "Tony" S. Kusnier Sr. age 82 of Elsie, Michigan died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Ovid Healthcare Center Ovid, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Elder Roger Squiers will officiate with burial at Fairfield Township Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 6-8 P.M. and Saturday, April 14, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Tony was born in Boswell, Pennsylvania on December 4, 1924 the son of Martin and Anna ( Pavlik ) Kusnier. He came to the Elsie area in October of 1926 and attended Fox School in Fairfield Township. Tony married Joann Viles on January 6, 1951 in Bannister, MI. Tony served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Michigan Milk Producers in 1987 after 34 1/2 years of service. He also farmed for many years. Anthony was a member of Shepardsville United Methodist Church and the ZCBJ Lodge in Bannister for over 75 years.

He is survived by his wife Joann Kusnier of Elsie, MI, 4 children; Kathy & Tim Shaw of Durand, MI, Tony & Linda Kusnier Jr. of DeWitt, MI, Jim & Charlene Kusnier of Ovid, MI, Michael & Tami Kusnier of Ovid, MI, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers; Mike, John, & Edward, and 4 sisters; Mary, Anna, Katherine, & Pauline.

Memorials may be made to WOES Radio Station. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
