Anthony Albert Simpson, age 90, of Corunna, MI passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Corunna.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Church of God, Owosso, MI, on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor John Miller will officiate. Burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, MI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 6-8 PM and Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.
Anthony was born in Skipton North Yorkshire, England on March 7, 1920, the son of George and Hilda (Nutter) Simpson. Anthony married Evelyn Hazard on June 28, 1974 in Flint, MI and resided most of his life in Michigan.
He served in the British Army for 7 years, involved with Normandy and D-day during WW II. Tony enjoyed snowmobiling, camping and tinkering on things. He also liked painting, crafts and was a talented piano player. Tony was a member of the First Church of God Owosso, MI.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Simpson of Corunna, MI, daughter Pamela and Bob Stevens of Fenton, MI, her children and grandchildren; son Charles and Lucy Hazard of Ovid, MI, his daughter Sarah Hazard and grandchildren Ella & Charlize; son Randy Hazard of Owosso, MI, and brother James Simpson of Skipton, England. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy and sister-in-law Norma.
