Arleita Belle Van Vleet age 94 of St. Johns, Michigan died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor St. Johns, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. George Brinley will officiate with burial at South Bingham Township Cemetery St. Johns, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Arleita was born in Ovid Township on December 12, 1912 the daughter of Floyd and Minnie ( Carroll ) Armstrong. She resided most of her life in St. Johns, Higgins Lake, L'Anse, Michigan and wintered in Apache Junction, Arizona for 20 years. She graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 1930. Arleita married Robert F. Van Vleet on June 27, 1932 in St. Johns, Michigan. He predeceased her on July 8, 1990. She was a homemaker who was an excellent cook, she enjoyed her family, & friends, and she was an avid card player. She enjoyed traveling, hiking, crocheting, and her pet companions.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Marlene & Jim Monfort of Delano, TN, Janet & Ed Thompson of Los Angeles, CA, 3 sons; Gary & Shirley Van Vleet of Higgins Lake, MI, Bruce & Barbara Van Vleet of St. Johns, MI, Ronald & Iris Van Vleet of Ft. Collins, CO, 9 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, 1 son, & 1 great grandson.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
