Arlene Edna Sigourney is walking with Jesus and the Angels. She was 90 years old. She passed away on August 15, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She died of natural causes.

Arlene was born to William G. Brondstetter and Laura Ann (Wilson) Brondstetter on February 23, 1921 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She was the last of 10 children. She attended Mount Pleasant High in Mount Pleasant Michigan. On September 29, 1939 she married Fred Emil Sigourney.

She was Assistant Administrator of Golden Acres Nursing Home that they owned and operated in St. Louis, Michigan, she was also an administrative assistant at the St. Louis Tile Factory which she co-owned with her husband. They later owned and operated the Fireside Restaurant in St. Louis.

Arlene was a member for many years of the Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church and the Zion Lutheran Ladies Aide Society in St. Louis, she was a member of the Saint Louis PTA in the 50's, and she assisted her husband during his tenure at the Pine River Township. She also hosted many social events in St. Louis. After moving to Arizona Arlene became a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona.

Her hobbies included, ceramics, an avid reader, music which included playing the piano and organ. She spent many hours with her children and grandchildren of whom she loved very much. She loved animals, especially the farm animals. She was surrounded by cats and dogs most of her life.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Luann (Robert) Ludwick of Mesa, AZ, Bonnie (Michael) Snook-Casini of Mesa, AZ, 3 grandsons; Frederick Ludwick of Las Vegas, NV, Bradley Ludwick of Mesa, AZ, Matthew Snook of Scottsdale, AZ, 3 granddaughters; Mikki Ludwick of Jeddo, MI, Ricki (Mark) Doty of Mesa, AZ, Tina (John) DeAngelo of Scottsdale AZ, 3 great granddaughters; Katie (Stephen) Parker of Hopkenton, NY, Dani Doty of Mesa, AZ, Ella Sakkat of Scottsdale, AZ, 5 great grandsons; Matthew (Danielle) Doty of Mesa, AZ, Robert (Laura) Ludwick of Los Angeles, CA, Logan Snook of Chandler, AZ, Jacob Snook of Chandler, AZ, and Cody Ludwick of Mesa, AZ, 2 great great granddaughters; Gabriella Siaz of Clovis, NM., and Brianna Parker of Hopkenton, NY, and a great great grandson; Billy Parker of Hopkenton, NY, several nieces; Shirley, Jean, Mary, Suzie, Sherry, Donna, Joie, Denyce, and Sandy and a special nephew; Robert J Warner. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Fred 1994, son Gary in 1946, 2 brothers and 7 sisters.

Funeral service Tuesday, August 23 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alma, Michigan. Visitation will be on Monday 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Rev. John Eich will officiate and burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at The Citadel Assisted Living, Emertitus Assisted Living, The Grand Court Assisted Living, in Mesa, Arizona. Also to all the Doctors and nurses that assisted and cared for her and a special thank you to all her life long friends.
