Arlin Mason

Arlin Dale Mason, age 69, of Elsie, MI passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Beverly Adcock officiating.  Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery Fairfield Township, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. and Friday, February 19, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Arlin was born in Brant, Michigan on August 21, 1946, the son of Tyler and Gladyas (Sladwick) Mason.  He was a graduate of Ashley High School and resided most of his life in Elsie, MI.  Arlin married Esther Burnside on July 3, 1965.  She passed away on June 16, 2008.  Arlin loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.  He was a former member of Racy Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter Laurie Mason of Elsie, MI, son Jeff Mason of Owosso, MI, daughter Karrie VanCise & Gregg Mead of Elsie, MI, 5 grandchildren; Misty Mason, Crystal Berry & Don Libener, Tony and Brittany Mead, Miranda Mead, Cassey VanCise, 8 great-grandchildren; Hallee Mason, BreAnna & Cory Hall, Taylor Lux, Ayden & Brooklynn Libener, Jamie Lee Mead, Layne Schultz, 3 brothers; Jim Mason of Wasilla, Alaska, Tom and Cherie Mason of Brant, MI, Raymond Mason of Brant, MI; 5 sisters; Bonnie and Wilfred Lacker of Brant, MI, Sharon and Gary Kingsbury of Brant, MI, Julie and Chris Reynolds of Brant, MI, Karen and Howard Peoples of Ithaca, MI, Carol and Don Stevenson of Perrinton, MI.  Arlin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Marci Mead, granddaughter Amber Mason, brother Floyde Mason, and sister Margie Mason.
