Arlis M. (Criner) Bishop

    Arlis M. Bishop, age 86, of Alger, MI, formerly of Elsie passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Simken Adult Foster Care, Lansing, Michigan. 

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, Michigan, on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 1:00 P.M.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. 

     Arlis was born in Elsie, Michigan on January 31, 1936, the daughter of Orville and Edith (Howard) Criner.  On December 1, 1952 she married Claude Wayne Bishop in Indiana; Claude predeceased her on October 7, 1992.  Arlis was a homemaker who enjoyed reading the bible, and cooking. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren. 

    She is survived by two children: Claudia and Rick Clark; Evelyn and Dave Killingsworth; daughter-in-law Kathie Bishop; seven grandchildren, Adam Simmer, Benjamin Bishop, Robert Bishop, Brian Bishop, Angela Simmer, Kevin Bishop, and Robin Davenport; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Claude, her son Wayne, two sisters: Vivian Lover and Joyce Somers, and her brother Lloyd Criner.
