Arthur Eugene Fisher, age 87, of Breckenridge, MI passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Dale Wolfe officiating. Burial will take place at Emerson Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Arthur was born in Mason, Michigan on October 30, 1926, the son of Ray and Myrtle (Court) Fisher. Art was a lifelong resident and farmer in Emerson Township. He served in the US Navy as a Seabee during WWII. Art served on the St. Louis School Board for 21 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking. Art married Margaret Sarber on December 31, 1944; she preceded him in death on June 6, 2003. He married Beatrice Acton on December 4, 2004; she preceded him in death on September 23, 2013. Art was a member of Breckenridge United Methodist Church.
He is survived by daughter Diana and Dave Post of Ithaca, MI, son Douglas and Susan Fisher of Alma, MI, daughter Kathy and Melvin Grandy of Rapid City, MI, daughter Vicky Whitman of Ithaca, MI, daughter Fay and Richard McDowell of Williamston, MI, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister Anna Siefka of St. Louis, MI, and brother Donald and Marian Fisher of Ithaca, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Margaret, wife Beatrice, sister Marie Biddinger, grandson Vernon Bradley, and grandson in law Richard Teed.
