Aurora Davila, age 88, of St. Louis, MI died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louis, MI on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Nathan Harburg officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Garden Cemetery, Elwell, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
Aurora was born in Hebbronville, Texas on February 4, 1925, the daughter of Maximiliano and Maria de Jesus (Hurta) Carreon. Aurora married Raul M. Davila in 1949. He passed away in 1970. Aurora was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. She retired from St. Louis Public Schools as a custodian. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her sister, kids, and grandkids. Aurora was a member of Las Guadalupanas of Alma and Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis, MI.
She is survived by her son Raul and Norma Garza of Alma, MI, daughter Cynthia Jones of St. Louis, MI, son Rick Davila of St. Louis, MI, daughter Mary Sanchez of St. Louis, MI, daughter Linda Ramirez of Celina, OH, daughter Rachel and Scott Coston of Tiverton, RI, 30 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, brother Roel and Connie Carreon of Fort Worth, TX, and sister Irma Escamilla of St. Louis, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children; Romeo Garza, Sylvia Davila, and Raul Davila, 2 brothers; Roberto, and Rene, and sister Guadalupe.
