Autumn Mendoza

Autumn Sky "Audi" Mendoza, age 21, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Karl Smart officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.

Autumn was born in Lansing, MI on June 2, 1998, the daughter of Gilbert Mendoza and Treasa (Van Alstine) Gadlen. She graduated from Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy in 2017.

Autumn was employed at Meijer in Alma as a fashion associate.  Autumn loved fashion and make up. She liked hanging out with her friends and listening to music. She was very artistic and loved giving her drawings and paintings to family and friends as gifts. She loved her cat Pooter. Family was very important to her and she loved the time spent with them. Autumn was strong willed, wasn't afraid to tell you how it was, genuine, she had a huge heart and saw beauty in everything.

She is survived by her mother Treasa and Manuel Gadlen of Ithaca, MI; sisters: Shonda Mendoza of AZ; Fawn Mendoza of Lansing, MI; brother Gilbert Mendoza Jr. of Lansing, MI; sisters: Mercedes Mendoza of TX; Katie Mendoza of WY; Summer Mendoza of Ithaca, MI; Raven Martinez of Ithaca, MI; brother Phoenix Martinez of Ithaca, MI; life partner Madison Riley of Ithaca, MI; step-father Jose Martinez of Ithaca, MI; grandparents: Gilbert Mendoza Sr. of Lansing, MI; Hilda and Jimmy Martinez of Ithaca, MI; Thomas and Kathryn Van Alstine of Lansing, MI; and great-grandmother Margaret Van Alstine of Williamston, MI. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father and great grandmother Margaret Hooper.
