Barbara Sue Miller, age 77, of Elsie, MI, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Green Acres Assisted Living, Cedar Springs, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held at Elsie United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 2:00 P.M.
Barbara was born in St. Johns, Michigan on November 17, 1946, the daughter of Alfred James and Wilma (Bashore) Miller.
Barb retired from Michigan State University after thirty-five years as a secretary to the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Mathematics. She loved working in her garden, cooking, and time spent with her friend Bob Foreback. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and three great-grandsons. Barb was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church where she helped organize Thursday night dinners.
She is survived by children: Tracy and Tim Slais of Fennville, MI; Darcy and Rob Oberdorfer of Sand Lake, MI; and Brad and Tanya Ginther of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Kali (Stuart) Haas, Kendahl Oberdorfer, Kyle Oberdorfer (fiancé Kendra Kalmbaugh), Taylor (Thomas Timmerman) Slais, and Tianna Slais, great-grandchildren: Liam Haas, Karter Oberdorfer, Emerson Haas, and two more on the way. She is also survived by her sister Judy Miller of St. Johns, M; two brothers: Charlie Miller of Montana; and Mark and Becky Miller of Elsie, MI; and her sister- in-law Barb Miller of Elsie, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Richard "Dick" Miller, and James "Jim" Miller, and one niece Trudy Rogers.
