Barbara Reichard

Barbara Alona Reichard, age 90, of St. Louis, MI died Saturday, October 31st, 2009 at her residence. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel on Wednesday, November 4th at 11:00 A.M. , Pastor Terri Bentley will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Barbara was born in Ithaca, Michigan on February 24, 1919, the daughter of Rex and Hazel (Stead) Cowdrey. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1937. She was married to Dale John Reichard on November 12, 1941. He passed away in June of 1984. She resided most of her life in St.Louis. She was active in the family business, Rainbow Trail Hatchery in St.Louis, until the business closed in 1981. She was a great baker, loved gardening, fishing, walking and found a lot of joy spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a member of St.Louis First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Michael and Mary Reichard of St.Louis, MI; son David and Ann Reichard of Cleveland, TX; daughter Patricia and Jim Wedel of Dewitt, MI; son Martin and Barbara Reichard of Celina, OH; 10 Grandsons;1 Granddaughter; 4 Great Grandsons; 4 Great Granddaughters; half sister Martha and Art Andrews of St.Johns, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, a step brother and a step sister
