     Basil LeRoy Bowers, age 90, of Owosso, MI, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
     A cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
     Basil was born in Durand, Michigan on April 7, 1934, the son of Lawrence and Thelma Ann (Conrad) Bowers. On May 4, 1956, Basil married Patricia JoAnn DeVoe at the Byron Methodist Church. They were blessed sixty-three years of marriage and five children prior to her passing on May 23, 2019.
     Basil had a passion for cars. He spent many hours working on old cars and going to car shows and made many lifetime friends along the way. "If his kids could be traded for a car, he would have done it." He owned hundreds of cars in his lifetime. Basil and Pat made many friends as they enjoyed adventures riding sand rails, snowmobiles, and motorcycles. They spent a lot of time on the trails in West Branch and Rose City.
      He is survived by three children: Daleen (Dale) Rose of Lafayette, IN; Nicky (Rod) Constine of Ovid, MI; and Daniel LeRoy Bowers of Elmira, MI; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, brother Wayne (Tootie) Bowers, his sister Bonnie (Bob) Delaney, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pat, son Dail Bowers, and daughter Dawn Bowers.
     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County - 2005 Copas Rd, Owosso, MI 48867.
