Basil Davis

       Basil Davis, age 90, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.

       Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17, 2022. Burial will take place at Eureka Cemetery, Eureka, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

       Basil was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on February 2, 1932, the son of David and Pearl (Fish) Davis.  He graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1950.  Basil married Joan Auer Aungst on May 6, 1983 and they were blessed with 30 years of marriage.

       Basil retired from Federal Mogul as a Lift Truck Operator after 32 years of service.  He loved farming, gardening, fishing and riding his bike. He also enjoyed dancing with his wife Joan.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army. 

       He is survived by his son Scott and Deb Davis of St. Louis, MI; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister Alice Sherwood of Wyoming; sister-in-law Doris Davis of St. Johns, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, son Tom Davis, three grandchildren, brother Wesley Davis, and sister Thelma Skinner.
