Beatrice Irene Canze, age 95, of Owosso, MI passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Chesaning Nursing Care Center, Chesaning, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Northgate Wesleyan Church Owosso, MI on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Cal Emerson will officiate. Burial will follow at West Haven Cemetery, New Haven Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 29, 2010 from 6-8 PM and on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.
Beatrice was born in Adams County, Indiana on January 11, 1915, the daughter of Crawford and Hazel (Buckey) Farlow. Beatrice resided most of her life rural Owosso. Beatrice married Stanley Canze on March 2, 1939 in Chesaning, MI. Stanley passed away July 28, 1989. Beatrice was a devoted wife for 50 years.
Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren were an important part of her life. Beatrice enjoyed gardening, quilting, bread making, baking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She loved her animals especially cats. She was a member of Northgate Wesleyan Church, Owosso, MI. She was a Sunday School teacher for 33 years at the Methodist Churches in Oakley and Chesaning.
She is survived by her daughter Ruth Ann and William Bleisner of Chesaning, MI, son, George and Lenore Canze of Laingsburg, MI, son Gerald and Shirley Canze of Owosso, MI, son Albert and Laurie Canze of Elsie, MI, daughter Betty and Doug Osmer of Henderson, MI, 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, 3 brothers; Joe and Anna Jo Farlow of Mt. Morris, MI, Robert and Geri Farlow of Oakley, MI, Lawrence and Gladys Farlow of Black River, MI, and 2 sisters; Esther Blondin of Hubbard Lake, MI, and Alice Coleman of Owosso, MI. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons; Orville and Gene, brother Elmer and 2 infant brothers.
