Beatrice May Kelley, age 86, of Owosso formerly of Elsie, Michigan died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Calvin Long officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013, from 4 - 8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, Michigan.
Bea was born in Clarksville, Michigan on May 19, 1927, the daughter of Clarence Jay and Agnes M. (Hughson) Trowbridge. On June 30, 1945 she married Jack E. Kelley in Clarksville, Michigan; Jack died May 12, 1969. Bea started at the Elsie Schools as the bookkeeper retiring after 30 years of service as the business manager from the Ovid-Elsie Public Schools. She was a member of the Elsie Lioness Club, a former Cub Scout Leader and a member of Michigan Association of Retired Public School Personal. Bea was also a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church and sang in the choir, she moved to Owosso transferring her membership to the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Jan Kelley of St. Johns, MI, son Larry and Deb Kelley of Roscommon, MI, 2 grandchildren; Jacke and Jamie Kovicak, Shannon Kelley & Barbara, 3 great grandchildren; Riley, Tyler and Avery, sister Mildred Bashore, and brother Clarence and (Lena) Trowbridge. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Mary Showers, and brother Richard Trowbridge.
