Belva Griffiths

Belva Jean Griffiths, age 78, of Owosso, MI, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family very much passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009 at home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Owosso, MI on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the service.

Belva was born in Flint, Michigan on December 4, 1930, she was the daughter of John and Goldie Irene (McWilliams) Zynda. Belva attended and graduated from Mt. Morris High School. She resided most of her life in Mt. Morris, Michigan until 1969 when she moved to Owosso, Michigan. Belva married J.D. Griffiths on April 28, 1951 in Mt. Morris, Michigan. He died on December 24, 2005. Belva was a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting antique glass, and flower gardening. Spending time with her grandchildren was very important to Belva. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Susan and Michael Webster of Crystal Falls, MI, 2 sons; James and Carol Griffiths of Owosso, MI, John and Erica Griffiths of Traverse City, MI, 5 grandchildren; James Griffiths of Owosso, MI, David Griffiths of Owosso, MI, Meghan Griffiths of Traverse City, MI, Caroline Griffiths of Traverse City, MI, John Paul Griffiths of Traverse City, MI, step-sister Norma Letourneau of Vermont, and step-brother Jack Zynda of California. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
