Bernice (Gay) Trombley of Ovid, MI died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the age of 92. Born August 18, 1921, Bernice was the daughter of Samuel and Louise (Fenner) Gay. She married Robert J. Trombley on December 6, 1941 in Lansing, MI and he preceded her in death in 2011. Robert and Bernice lived in Laingsburg, MI until they moved to Colorado in 1962. In 1978 the couple moved to Preston, NV where they resided for 33 years. After her husband's death in 2011, Bernice lived in Mesa, AZ and moved to Ovid, MI in 2012.
Surviving are her children; Joanne (Larry) Peck of Ovid, Gaye (Pat) Pohl of Paonia, CO, Elizabeth Watts of Tucson, AZ and Peggy (Skip) Pepers of Mesa, AZ; 16 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister, Norma Kendell; sisters-in-law, Bev Archer and Elma Gay; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bernice was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janet; grandson, Jeremy; great grandson, Jagger; brothers, Virgil, Delbert, and Paul Gay; and sister, Mabel Robinette.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 23, 2013 at the First Congregational Church, 401 E. Grand River Ave., Laingsburg, MI 48848 with the Rev. Cayle Beagle officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage, 801 S. Waverly, Suite 304, Lansing, MI 48917 or First Congregational Church, Laingsburg.
