Bethel DeVries

Bethel DeVries died November 30, 2008 at the age of 90. Born December 25, 1917 in Elsie, the daughter of Jefferson and Ethel (Cordray) Walker. Bethel married George W. DeVries on March 7, 1937 in Duplain Twp., and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Owosso.

Surviving her are daughters, Doris (LaVern) Wilcox of Bath and Josephine (Roger) Sadler of Harrison, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, brother, Clifford (Carol) Walker, Sister In-Law, Harriet Henry, Brother In-Law, Jack Doak. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a baby daughter, brothers, Earl, Lloyd, Glen and Raymond Walker, sisters, Ruby Dennis and Beatrice Doak.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, with Pastor Kenneth Herbruck officiating, burial at Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6 – 8 Tuesday. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
