Bethel Ann Komperda age 69 of Alma, Michigan died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Pastor George Ayoub will officiate with burial at North Star Cemetery in Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 22 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
Bethel was born on November 18, 1935 in North Star, Michigan the daughter of Rolla and Ruth (Milspaugh) Crandell. She was lifelong resident of Gratiot County, MI and graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1954. Bethel married Theodore "Ted" Komperda in St. Louis in June 1954. Ted passed away July 29, 2004
Bethel retired from Masonic Pathways after 17 years as a seamstress. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was also involved in the foster grandparent program at Hillcrest Elementary School in Alma. In the past, she was a member of the Sweet Adelines.
She is survived by her 5 children; Dawn & Steve Showalter of Alma, MI, Sandra & Rick Marshall of Manton, MI, Wendy & Pete Salyer of Elsie, MI, Ted & Deborah Komperda of St. Louis, MI, Kerry & Shellie Komperda of Alma, MI, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 sister Cody & Grant Hole of Greenville, MI, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased her parents, 3 brothers Neil, Stewart, and Robert Crandell; sister in law Rhoda Crandell, and her husband Ted Komperda.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Mercy Flight Program. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes.
