Betty Jane (Brundage) Ebnit

     Betty Jane Ebnit, age 90, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI.  Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 6-8 P.M. and also on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

     Betty was born in St. Louis, Michigan, on December 6, 1931, the daughter of Addison Cornelius and Ethel Anne (Clare) Brundage. Betty married Walter Lee Ebnit on June 15, 1956, in St. Louis, Michigan.  They were blessed with 48 years of marriage, prior to Walter's passing on May 31, 2005. 

     Betty had a great zest for life. She was fun loving, kind and had a personality with a smile that will be missed by all who knew her. Betty enjoyed puzzles, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Redeemer United Methodist Church, DeWitt, MI where she also enjoyed her bible study and circle groups. 

     She is survived by her son Donald Ebnit of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter Susan Webster of St. Johns, MI; four grandchildren: Catherine Ebnit, Andrew McElfresh, Billy McElfresh, Cody and Madison Ebnit; five great-grandchildren; and one sister Kathleen and Leroy Weaver of Shepherd, MI.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Roy.
