Betty Ockert

Betty Ann Ockert, age 59, of Alma, MI passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Nate Harburg officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. and be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 10-11 A.M. one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Betty was born in Alma, Michigan on April 28, 1956, the daughter of Leander Anthony and Glenna Marie (Oberlin) Ockert. She resided most of her life in Alma.

Betty loved to walk, travel, see the sights, and really enjoyed hiking the trails. Betty also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She had worked for 40 years at Gratiot Medical Center.

She is survived by her parents Lee and Glenna Ockert of Alma, MI; 3 brothers Paul Ockert of Alma, MI; Leo Ockert of Alma, MI; John and Michele Ockert of St. Louis, MI. Betty is also survived by Marlene Oberlitner whom she considered a sister; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her grandparents.
