Beulah was born August 16, 1923 in Gratiot County, MI the daughter of Lewis and Kristine Battley. Although Beulah may have lost all of her memories of the life she lived and loved prior to the onset of her illness, she left us, her family and friends, the memories of a wonderful loving, strong-willed and free-spirited woman. Although her light diminished slowly, her heart and courage continued to shine through. We will miss her dearly.
Mom's most precious gift in life were her children and family. She enjoyed working outdoors, traveling, rides in the country and never passed up a chance to go fishing. Beulah married Ernest Nieman Sr. on October 24, 1944 in Arkansas.
Surviving to cherish her memory are: 2 sons; Ernest F. Nieman, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Alma, James L. Nieman and wife Deborah of Gould City; 2 daughters; Barbara Netzley and husband Dennis of Mt. Pleasant and Irene Clark, of Flint, and son-in-law, Rex Sparks of St. Louis, grandchildren, Marie, Gary, & Alan Netzley, Julie Campbell, Shelley Fairchild, Troy Sparks, Adam & Stuart Nieman, Pamela and Chris Nieman, several great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years in 1981; daughter, Shirley Sparks in 2009, son-in-law, Kenneth Clark in 2005; parents, Lewis and Christina Battley, brothers; Lloyd and Ancel; and sisters; Lenora and Leona.
