Beverly Jane "Bev" Geisenhaver

      Beverly Jane "Bev" Geisenhaver, age 73, of Ovid, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. 

      Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2024.  Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  

     Bev was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 31, 1950, the daughter of Harold Albert and Brenda (Whitehead) Mead. She graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School. Bev married Gregory Geisenhaver on December 5, 1970 at the United Church of Ovid.   

     Bev worked at Darling's Hardware in Ovid for many years. She also worked with Osgood and Smith Funeral Homes for more than 25 years. She made many connections and lifelong friends throughout her work at the funeral home. Bev's family was most important to her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who took care of those she loved. She was a member of the United Church of Ovid.  

     She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Greg Geisenhaver of Ovid, MI; daughters: LaNiece and Brent Densteadt of Lansing, MI; Becky and Chris Vincent of Ovid, MI; granddaughter and the apple of her eye, Brena Vincent; and grandchildren: Daniel and Emily Densteadt, Shane and Shelby Densteadt. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Cayden and RayLynn; sister-in-law Gayle and Dennis Lockwood of Lansing, MI; and brother-in-law Jeff Geisenhaver of Lansing, MI.   She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Brenda Mead, father and mother-in-law Kenneth and Belva Geisenhaver, her brother Barry Mead and nephew Brent Mead.
