Bonita Jean "Bonnie" Heibeck, age 95, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Pilgrim Global Methodist Church, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 25, 2024, with Pastor Andy Croel officiating. Burial will take place at South Bingham Township Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, and on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
Bonnie was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 25, 1929, the daughter of Donald and Neva (Hettler) Pope. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School with the class of 1947. Bonnie married Ronald Benjamin Heibeck on June 14, 1947; they were blessed with 67 years of marriage prior to his passing on December 10, 2014.
Bonnie was a nurse’s aide at Clinton Memorial Hospital for 6 years and retired from Clinton County Intermediate School District (Clinton County RESA). Bonnie loved her Lord and Savior, family, her dogs, home, church, and music - especially playing her violin at church. Bonnie also enjoyed sewing, quilting, shopping and her flowers. She was a member of Pilgrim Global Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, MARSP, and Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Dulcimer Club, Maple Twirlers Square Dance Club, played with Mint City Jammers and the Shepardsville United Methodist Church Worship Team.
She is survived by her children: Candice (Jim) Pierson, R. Scott (Lee Ettinger) Heibeck, Judith (Stuart) Hazle, and Mark (Barbie) Heibeck; her grandchildren: Dwight (Anne) Pierson, Chad (Amy) Pierson, Scott Jr. (Kendra) Heibeck, Sterling (Kalena) Heibeck, Sean (Rebecca) Heibeck, David (Bridget) Hazle, Rebecca Ramirez, John (Jessica) Hazle, Jason (Molly) Heibeck, Jamie (Theron) Miller, and Britney Heibeck; 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law Francis Halitsky. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, her parents, father and mother-in-law, brother Dean (Martha) Pope, and many other family members.
