Brandon William Chunko, age 21, of DeWitt Township, MI, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Sparrow Hospital - Clinton, St. Johns, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Brandon will be buried near his great-grandfather at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI. Those unable to attend mass may view it live on the Smith Family Funeral Homes Facebook page.
Brandon was born in Lansing, MI on September 9, 1999, the son of William Briant Chunko and Heather Michelle (Chunko) Cook Fisette. He graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 2018. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns.
Brandon was a very compassionate and caring young man who loved his friends and family. He loved riding motorcycles, and playing guitar and banjo. He enjoyed reading and history. Brandon possessed a creative imagination and was very artistic. He really enjoyed working with his dad restoring his 1969 Ford Fairlane and old motorcycles.
Brandon is survived by his mother Heather (Michael) Fisette of DeWitt Township, father Will (Casie) Chunko of St. Johns, brother Justin "Hunter" Chunko of Haslett, girlfriend Taylor McCall of Charlotte and 4 step-siblings: Dane, Sierrah, Mikaylah, and Laylah Fisette. He is also survived by his grandfather John Chunko, grandfather Frederick (Armeda) Cook II, grandmother Jeannie (Gordon) Shipley, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Brandon was preceded in death his great-grandfather Frederick Fleischer and grandmother Laura Chunko.
