Brian Freeman

Brian Stanley Rosenberger/Freeman age 22, of Owosso, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 10, 2010.

Funeral Services will be held at Abba's House Christian Fellowship on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor David Knox will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 12, 2010 from 1-3 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso.

Brian was born in Owosso on June 27, 1988, to Lisa Freeman (Rosenberger) and Robert B. Rosenberger Sr. both of Owosso. His step-father, John Freeman came into Brian's life at the age of three and raised him as his own.

Brian graduated from Owosso High School with honors in 2007. Brian worked for the Baker Summer Youth Program every year since the age of 12. Even after a heart surgery in April, coming home on oxygen in May, he was determined to be in the program in July and did! He attended Abba's House Christian Fellowship, where he often volunteered to cook hotdogs for the softball team and cooked at other events as well. Brian had Aspergers Syndrome and had been bullied most of his life, yet he forgave all who said or did mean things. He was passionate about stopping bullying, abuse, and violence to help others and an active participant in the Take a Bite out Of Abuse program to educate others. He helped take care of the family's three dogs, Baby, Snickers, and Wanakiya, and loved going on pet therapy visits to encourage others who were down, sick, or shut in. He was an avid Bible reader, had just finished reading Ruth chapter two, as was his daily practice to read through the Bible in a year. He had a strong, vibrant faith that kept his family and friends going through the hard times. And he had an equally fun side, with a great sense of humor. Everyone at one time or another experienced one of Brian's practical jokes. He loved his family, his therapy dogs, cooking, cartoons, comedies, and even a game of Uno. He also cared for others and didn't have a selfish bone in his body. When the Wish Network called a few years ago to grant him a wish, his father was out of work at the time and he said, "All I want is for my Dad to have a job." Many times he served his mother a tasty breakfast at her computer. Brian had been on the heart transplant list for five years, yet was in good health and had lost 42 pounds by walking and watching his diet.

Brian is survived by his parents Lisa and John Freeman of Owosso, birth father Robert Rosenberger, Sr. of Owosso, brother Robert Rosenberger Jr Freeman, sister Melissa Rosenberger Freeman, brother Jeremiah Rosenberger Freeman all of Owosso; grandparents; Stanley and Lela Hunt of Owosso, grandfather Glen Rosenberger of Owosso, aunts, uncles and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents Francis and Sarah Freeman, grandmother Beverly Rosenberger, and uncle Joseph Freeman.
