Buddie Roy Stroub, age 72, of Corunna, MI passed away Saturday, June 20th, 2009 at University Hospitals, Ann Arbor, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Owosso, MI on Wednesday, June 24th at 1:00 P.M. Pastor David Woodby will officiate. Graveside Services will take place at Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Arcadia, MI on Thursday June 25th at 1:00 PM.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 22nd from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, June 23rd from 2-8 PM with family present 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.
Buddie was born in Cohoctah, Michigan on November 27, 1936, the son of John and Bessie (Bayliss) Stroub. Buddie married Janice Huhnke on December 13, 1959 in Beulah, MI. He resided most of his life in Shiawassee County. Buddie was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Owosso, MI where he was instrumental in starting 'Shepherd's Field' a garden to benefit the local community.
Buddie worked for General Motors as an electrician, he also worked on the Ann Arbor Railroad. He loved gardening and airplanes even taking a ride in a glider. He also enjoyed sports especially hunting & fishing. His family was most important to him and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Buddie even tried his hand at cooking. Photography and spending time in Frankfort was a special joy to him especially taking sunset photos. He volunteered his time and loved helping others, volunteering at Memorial Healthcare for 15 years. He was actively involved with the "Gift of Life" and the transplant support group, T.I.M.E. Buddie loved country & cajun music and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Buddie is survived by his wife, Janice Stroub of Corunna, MI; 3 children, Ursula and Brian Brady of Owosso, MI, Erich and Christa Stroub of St. Johns, MI and Hans Stroub of Corunna, MI; 5 grandchildren, Sophia and Collin Brady also Brianne, Logan and Kylie Stroub; sister, Genevieve Tyler of Owosso, MI; 3 nephews, Gary Haist, Edward Marek also William and Carrie Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents also 2 nieces, his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Adolph and Olive Huhnke, 4 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.
