Burtis J. "Burt" Blair, age 78, of Perrinton, Michigan passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, Michigan on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev Fr. Andrzej Boroch officiating. Burial will take place at Fulton Center Cemetery, Perrinton, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI. A Scripture Service will be held on 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burt was born in Middleton, Michigan on August 6, 1936, the son of Louis W. and Dorothy E. (Bowser) Blair. He graduated from Fulton High School. On June 27, 1959 Burt married Rosalie A. Kupres in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Ithaca, Michigan. Burt served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post, in Carson City, MI. Burt worked for many years as a mechanic at Cooper Chevrolet in Ithaca, Michigan. He and his wife owned and operated Rosie's Crafts and Kettle Corn Business. He was a member of the Houghton Lake Arts and Crafts Show Association, and was a member of St. Martin DePours Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie Blair, 2 daughters; Cinda and John Karlik, Rosemary and Bryan Karlik, 6 sons; Louis Blair, Larry Blair, Terry and Sheryl Blair, Gary Blair, Burt and Kendra Blair, Kurt and Trinity Blair, 13 grandchildren; Keshia (Steven) Hatfield, Kiley (Dillon) Trefil, Laura Karlik, Mackenzy Blair, Mackauly Blair, Dustin Karlik, Nathan Karlik, Caleb Bullard, Nicholas Karlik, Cole Blair, McKayla Blair, Jillian Blair, Dezmond Blair, 2 great grandsons; Anderson and Clayton, and 2 sisters; Iris Drake, Betty and Glenn Drake. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Irene Drake, and 2 brothers; Ronald Howell, Russell Blair.
