Calvin Lewis VanDeusen

     Calvin Lewis VanDeusen, age 83, of Elsie, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his home. 

     Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

     Calvin was born in Ovid, MI, on March 28, 1940, the son of Lewis and Dorothy (Good) VanDeusen.  He married Doris Rademacher on November 23, 1963, in Ovid, MI. They were happily married for over fifty-nine years.

     Calvin retired from General Motors after thirty-one years.  After retirement he was a custodian at Ovid-Elsie High School for ten years and worked at Sheldon's Packing House in Ovid. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Sitting on his front porch and visiting with neighbors was his favorite pastime.  Calvin was baptized at the Duplain Church of Christ. 

     He is survived by his wife Doris VanDeusen of Elsie, MI; son Kyle and Vicki VanDeusen of St. Johns, MI; daughter Penny and Scott Winans of Elsie, MI; grandchildren: Hunter (Tara) Winans, Hayden (Kaylee) Winans, Hudson (Cassidy Harris) Winans, and Mitch (Taylor) Fabus; great-grandchildren: Caroline, Claire, and JW Fabus; brother Jack VanDeusen of Grand Rapids, MI; brother Jerry VanDeusen of Fulton, MI; sister Linda and John Bona of Webster, NY; sister Pat and Bert LeLand, of Owosso, MI; brother Bill and Clara VanDeusen of Fowler, MI; sister-in-law Shirley Russell of St. Johns, MI; sister-in-law Roslyn Steffen of St. Johns, MI; brother-in-law Joe Bancroft of Ovid, MI; sister-in-law Joyce VanDeusen, sister-in-law Kathy VanDeusen of Ovid, MI; Marie VanDeusen of Ovid, MI; and sister-in-law Georgene VanDeusen of Grand Rapids, MI. Calvin is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Richard VanDeusen, Larry VanDeusen, and Doug VanDeusen; sisters-in-law: Marie Bancroft, Loretta (Paul) Bohil, and Teresa VanDeusen; brother-in-law Sonny Russell.
