Carl Derry

Carl Eugene Derry age 77 of St. Louis, Michigan died September 25, 2007 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Sam Dunbar will officiate with burial at Chapel Garden Cemetery Seville Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Carl was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 9, 1930 the son of Archie and Ruby ( Currey ) Derry. He resided most of his life in Ashley, Michigan. Carl married Mary Lee Cowart in Farmington, Michigan. He then married Loretta Rose Cowles in Alma, Michigan. He then married Evelyn (Kate) Geyer on April 26, 1999. in St. Louis, Michigan. She died on January 13, 2007. Carl served in the U. S. Army 82nd Airbone Division. He worked at Detroiter Mobil Homes and Lobdell-Emery in Alma. He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed gardening. He also enjoyed hunting, woodworking, playing pool, and softball. Carl was a member of the VFW, CSA, Elks, and a past member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by 5 children; Diane & Derek Slupka of Waterford, MI, Cheryl & Bob Price of St. Louis, MI, Rick Becker of Tucson, AZ, Gary & Judy Derry of St. Louis, MI, Carla Derry of Alma, MI, 9 grandchildren; Wendy, Debbie, Angie, Amy, Michael, Matthew, David, Ashley, & Danielle, 6 great grandchildren, 1 sister Deanna & Pete VanderWerf of Kentwood, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, 2 wives, and five siblings; Louis Fraiser, Bob Derry, Dick Derry, Ethel Brewer, and Jerry Derry.

Memorials may be made to VFW. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
