Carl J. Goldman Jr., age 58, of Perry, MI was promoted to Heaven Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Resurrection Life Church, St. Louis, MI on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Randy Stehouwer will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 4-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI and one hour prior to the service Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 10-11 A.M. at Resurrection Life Church St. Louis, MI.
Carl was born in Carson City, Michigan on December 22, 1951, the son of Carl J. and Mary E. (Kadera) Goldman. He lived most of his life in the Chapin area prior to his marriage to Kathy Stephenson on February 2, 2002 in Owosso, MI. He served in the U.S. Navy in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was in the Navy Seabee's where he served at Camp David and was a weapons instructor. He retired in 2004 from the Seabee Reserves. He was an electrician at General Motors, and a DNR and CCW Instructor. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking and was a member of the American Legion, Elsie Post. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church St. Louis, MI, were he served as an usher and was active in various other activities in the life of the church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Goldman of Perry, MI, son Chris and Jessica Goldman of Elsie, MI, daughter Lindsay Goldman and her fiance, Dustin Smith of Mt. Pleasant, MI, step daughter Amber and Andrew Uhl of Barryton, MI, step son Chris and Angie Stephenson of East Lansing, MI, step daughter Stefanie and Todd DeShetler of Fort Worth, TX, granddaughters; Audrey and Kailyn Stephenson of East Lansing, MI, and Grace, Meagan and Samantha DeShetler of Fort Worth, TX, brothers; Louie and Shirley Baron of Owosso, MI and Allen and Carrie Baron of Owosso, MI. He is also survived by several extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents, and mother-in-law, Minnie Worman.
