Carl Ellis Holton age 85 of Owosso, Michigan died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Sparrow Health Systems Sparrow Campus Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on June 5, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2006 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.

Carl was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on April 14, 1921 the son of Delbert A. and Nellie ( Wierman ) Holton. He resided most of his life in Rush Township, Michigan. Carl married Ruth A. Doederlein on August 11, 1944. She passed away on December 1, 1986. He then married Mary Dick on November 12, 1988. She passed away on December 11, 2005. He was a retired farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. Carl was a member of the American Angus Association, and the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by daughter Nancy Berger of Owosso, MI, 2 grandsons; Aaron Berger of Owosso, MI, David Berger of Owosso, MI, 1 great grandson Jacob Berger, 2 sisters: Bernice Coleman of Elsie, MI, Doris & John Green of Elsie, MI, 2 brothers; Ward & Iva Holton of Ovid, MI, Millard & Phyllis Holton of Ovid, MI, and many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
