Carl Snyder

Carl Francis “Cap” Snyder age 84 of Perrinton, MI passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI after a brief illness.

Carl was born on March 10, 1933 in Ithaca, MI the son of Irving and Julia Snyder.  He earned 12 Varsity letters at Fulton High School where he graduated from with the class of 1951.  Cap married Glenna Belle Snyder on October 23, 1953.  They were married for 63 years before she passed away on May 10, 2017.  Cap retired for Oldsmobile in Lansing after 32 years of service.  He loved golf, picking up rocks, cutting wood, riding the Kubota, hunting, fishing, farming, going to the casino and scratch off lottery tickets.  Cap was an avid card player, and a U of M (even though his daughter graduated from Michigan State University) and Tiger fan.  He was a member of the Pompeii Methodist Church and the Carson City Lodge #306 F. & A.M.  He and Glenna spent winters in Green Valley, AZ where they owned a condo.

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl (Snyder) and Bill Richardson of Albany, NY, granddaughter Catherine Richardson of Arlington, VA (of which he shares a birthday), sisters in law; Donna Riggle Housler of Tucson, AZ and Mary Snyder of Janesville, WI, and nieces and nephews; Bill Scott, Angie Grose, Chad Housler, Ravin Snyder, and Nicole Bukman.  He was predeceased by his parents, wife, beloved son Rodney Charles in 2013, brother Carroll Snyder, sisters in law; Carolyn Riggle and Becky Riggle, and brothers in law; Arden Riggle and Neal Housler.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pompeii United Methodist Church, Pompeii, MI on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Steve Swem and Pastor Zella Daniel officiating, with a luncheon to follow.
