Carl James Winsor, age 93, of Perrinton, Michigan, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, Michigan.
A Memorial Service will be held at Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church, Maple Rapids, Michigan, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with Pastor Jerry Kissling officiating, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fulton Center Cemetery, Perrinton, Michigan.
Carl was born in Middleton, Michigan on March 4, 1931, the son of Gerald Clark and Eulene V. (Leslie) Winsor. He graduated from Fulton High School with the Class of 1950. Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On January 27, 1951, Carl married June Jeannette Avey at the Middleton Methodist Church. They were blessed with sixty-one years of marriage prior to her passing on June 11, 2012. Carl and June were members of the Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church for many years.
Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always looked forward to turkey hunting every spring and fall. He loved to read and travel. He worked for White Farm Equipment (Oliver) for over 30 years. In retirement, Carl worked for Kline’s 39’s Fertilizer for over 10 years. Most of all, Carl loved his family, spending time with them and family card parties.
He is survived by six children: Donna Bongard, Daniel (Loretta) Winsor, Richard Winsor, Linda Blair, Jeannette (Michael) Biehl, and Steven (Diana) Winsor; 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, four siblings: Lauren "Bud" (Beverly) Winsor, Marilyn Bentley, Glen Dale Winsor, and Leola (Roger) LaShombe; sister-in-law Victoria Winsor, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife June, daughter Christine Lewis, son-in-law Larry Bongard, daughter-in-law Nadine Winsor, grandson Jeff Trune, siblings: Duane (Marilyn) Winsor, Geraldine (Ken) Gager, and Bill Winsor; brother-in-law Ken Bentley, and sister-in-law Carolyn Winsor.
