Caroline Lamey

Caroline Joyce "Carrie" Lamey age 77, of Ashley, MI, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Ashley Care Center, Ashley, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Joe Pendleton officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI at a later date.

Caroline was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI on May 3, 1940, the daughter of Lyle and Agnes Kemp. She graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1958. Caroline married Thomas M. "Tom" Lamey on March 27, 1964; Tom passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015.

Carrie loved bingo, playing cards, bowling and spending time in the sunshine. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events. She worked over 20 years at the Ashley Care Center.  Carrie spent most of her life in Ashley; she liked driving her golf cart around town and visiting people.

She is survived by son Tom and Leisa Lamey of Ithaca, MI; daughter Laurie and Tim Good of Wheeler, MI; step children: Lorene and Dan Cole, Shelly and Jeff Myres, Cindy and Denny Zirgebal, and Bob; grandchildren: TJ Good of Haslett, MI; Keri Good of Ashley, MI; Marcus Good of Wheeler, MI; Tanner Lamey of Ithaca, MI; Trever Lamey of Ithaca, MI; great grandsons: Cameron Good of St. Charles, MI; Braxton Adkins of Ashley, MI; 3 sisters: Jane and Bruce Roethlisberger of Shepherd, MI; Virginia Vargas of California; and Kathy Jones of California, and sister in law Nancy McKendry.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother Frank McKendry.
