Carrol Shafer

Carrol Mae Shafer age 66, of Owosso, MI died Friday, July 18, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer at Genesys Regional Health Park, Grand Blanc, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Chaplain Beverly Adcock will officiate and visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 6-8 P.M. and on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI.
Carrol was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 11, 1941. She resided most of her life in Vernon and Owosso, Michigan. She graduated from Byron High School with the class of 1960. Carrol married Robert J. Shafer on August 22, 1992 in Owosso, MI. She was the Co-Founder of the Shi-Spinster Fiber Arts Guild. She enjoyed educating people on the Fiber Arts. Carrol worked at Simplicity Engineering in Durand as a receptionist for 18 years. She then worked as a massage therapist for 6 years at Elliotts in Owosso and then for the last 4 years in her home. Carrol enjoyed training and breeding Samoyed dogs. She enjoyed her flower gardens and watching birds, especially hummingbirds.
She is survived by her husband Bob Shafer of Owosso, MI, 2 daughters; Collette Spring of Fenton, MI, Danielle and Aaron Potts of Albion, MI, 1 son Bob J. and Jeanie Shafer Jr. of Commerece, GA, daughter-in-law Judy (Spring) Kline, grandchildren; Sarah Spring, Dylan & Grant Smith & Nicole Potts, brother John and Eleanor Graff and several nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her father, and 1 son Joseph D. Spring.
