Catherine Greene

Catherine L. Greene died January 11, 2010, at the age of 90. Born in Clinton County on August 19, 1919, the daughter of J.C. and Birdie (Duzenbury) Colby and lived in Laingsburg, Ovid and Carland all of her life. She graduated from Laingsburg High School in 1938. Catherine attended Grove Bible Church and Carland United Methodist Church, was involved with Clinton County Extension for over 50 years and volunteered at Pleasant View for 5 years. She married J. Edward Greene on October 18, 1938, and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1999.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Malinda) Greene of DesPlaines, IL, and James L. Greene of Carland, a granddaughter, Nicole Jade Greene, and sister, Grace Putnam of Laingsburg. In addition to her husband and parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Jane Wright.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Sat., January 16, 2010, at Carland United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Brown, Pastor Bob Prange and Rev. Eric Stanton officiating. Memorials may be made to Carland U.M.C.
