Cecil Robert Brink, age 91, of Alma, MI died Friday, November 5th, 2010 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Thursday, November 11th at 11:00 A.M. Pastor George Showers will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Cecil was born in Alma, Michigan on November 22, 1918, the son of Louis and Gertrude (Marcus) Brink. Cecil attended St. Louis schools, and was a lifelong resident of St. Louis. He worked for the Rainbow Trail Hatchery, and farmed for most of his life. He married Doris (Thom) Brink on June 26, 1964 in St. Louis, MI. She passed away March 17, 2010. Cecil enjoyed his family and his morning breakfast and Chevy car club friends. He was a longtime bowler, softball pitcher, deer hunter, trout & salmon fisherman, woodworker, and his pride and joy was the complete restoration of his 1928 Canopy Express.
He is survived by his son Robert and Pat Brink of St. Louis, MI; 2 daughters Delores and Bob Hockemeyer of Belding, MI; Barbara MacKercher of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren Mary Jo & Michael, Lisa, Renee, Ann, David, Bonnie, Meg, Jill, Troy, and Demara, 27 great grandchildren, sisters in law Viola Brink and Brenda Brink both of Alma, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, brothers John, Gerald, Donald, and Louis, and sisters Alice Pennington, Frances Bovee, and Louise Reirson.
